I attended the ZTNT Model Railroad Club’s open house today.

They are indeed; a bright point for Downtown Zanesville.

The Open House (normally scheduled one in the spring, one in the fall) is a focal event for the model railroad club.

Brian Harrier (Club President), Greg Short (Club VP), Rick Gooden (Club Treasurer) and Ed Block (longtime hobby shop owner and club member) were many of the members operating today.

Zanesville, like many Ohio cities; have those folks who have fallen on hard times.

3-4 years ago; Ed Block and Christ’s Table Ministries discussed the possibility of using the top floor of their building.

With their landlord, The Zanesville Times-Recorder, WHIZ-TV and other folks; the club has helped with many events in Zanesville.

On top of serving the community, the club also is growing the hobby.

Two recent junior members join the club. Gaining younger members not only peaks interest; but gives the ZTNT Model Railroad Club a bright future.

Rick Gooden spoke to WHIZ-TV for this weekend’s open house.

Link is below….

They do various outreaches and events throughout the year.

For that information; please refer to the following contact info.

Whether it be a operations night or an event; I highly recommend visiting the Zane Trace National Trail Model Railroad Club.

Their normal meeting nights are Tuesday at 7:30. Please refer to contact info on visiting this fine club.
