By popular request, the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum has added the Fall Foliage TroopTrain Ride back onto the Schedule on Sunday, October 20th at noon , 1:30, 3 and 4:30. These trips are FREE to all veterans and active duty personnel.  

As a National Historic Landmark, the Depot tells the story everyday of the Depot’s WWI and WWII Canteen that served 1.5 million soldiers.

As the best example left in the country of a WWII Servicemen’s Canteen, The Dennison Depot was named a National Historic Landmark. 

Depot Museum Director Wendy Zucal shares that “visiting the Dennison Depot is virtually walking in the footsteps of American heroes – those that served on the war front and those that served on the homefront.  Our job is to make sure we never forget their sacrifices by sharing their story every day.”  Zucal added “the trips are a way to say Thank You to our veterans and honor their service.”

These one hour trips will depart from the Dennison Depot, heading east over rare mileage toward Bowerston, Ohio, for one hour trips.  The excursions are only possible through the support of Genesee & Wyoming Railroad and the Ohio Railroad Development Commission.

For additional guests interested in tickets, fares are Balcony $20 adults, $15 Children 4-12, Coach seats $25 adults, $20 for Children, Deluxe Seats $32, First Class $40.
The Dennison Depot celebrates the arrival of fall with a series of #Falliday Train Rides on October 12-13 and 19-20,  including the Troop Train Ride, Little Engineer’s Trip, Chocolate and Cheese Ride and Fall Foliage Rides. Information for all are available on

The Dennison Railroad Depot Museum is a restored 1873 Pennsylvania Railroad Station located at 400 Center Street, Dennison, Ohio. It is exactly halfway between Pittsburgh and Columbus, once being the water stop that served trains along the Panhandle Route. The Depot is located 15 minutes from New Philadelphia, Ohio, roughly 50 minutes south from Canton, Ohio.  The Museum includes a restaurant, gift shop, theater, outside picnic areas and rolling stock.  Families can enjoy the interactive “Bing’s Scavenger Hunt” throughout the Museum and Children’s Railroad Experience Car, named after Dennison’s WWI Canine Hero Bing.  A highlight for veterans will be the rare WWII hospital car restored and filled with WWII and WWII artifacts.
