Fostoria Rail Gathering 2021

Many improvements have happened in just one year’s time.

So on top of the Caboose Deck (what I have dubbed the Railpark Caboose Patio Plaza), there is now Wi-Fi.

Literally, as of August 23, 2021….

An welcoming E Mail showing more support from The Fostoria Police Department. They have been keeping the Railpark safe as well as other services….

As in an email to Ellen Gatrell with the FRPS

Just so you are aware, the Wi-Fi is fully functioning at the Rail Park  under the SSID Fostoria_Rail_Park

There is no password and the speed has been restricted but fast enough that people can utilize it for train programs, etc.

Feel free to pass this on to the rail fans as another benefit offered by the City for tourism.

Thank You, Keith N Loreno

Chief of Police Fostoria Police Division

The main platform still offers the restrooms, tables, power outlets, and some chairs.

The restrooms are maintained by FRPS volunteers and occasionally railfans who help out. (Yup, I cleaned the restrooms and left extra toilet paper at the end of the day)

There are many outlets for eating options around the city, The park is open 24/7 and protected by Fostoria Police.

You can not place tents on the property. (The Fostoria Iron Triangle Rail Park is indeed a city park….A lot of folks forget that)

However, sleeping in vehicles and campers are indeed welcome.

Virtual Railcam and Railstream currently have sponsored railcams.

Although Marion, Deshler, and Berea are great places to railfan.

However, in Ohio; there is no other solely dedicated place for railfanning than Fostoria.

I will continue to return time after time again.
