I, personally; have participated one way, shape or form with the folks from Central Ohio N-Trak with this event most of the years.
I can assure; this is one of the best family friendly and modeler interactive shows in the United States.
The Ohio N-Scale Weekend actually is inspired by another great gathering of N-Scalers; The Altoona N-Scale Weekend (formerly Bedford, PA N-Scale Weekend).
Around 2007-2008; the folks at Central Ohio N-Trak was regularly attending the late fall event in Bedford, PA. Craig Sonnen, Dave Lindsey, Bud Pilon, Brandon Lee, Brian Rife and other members spoke how the club would organize a event like this in Central Ohio.
While many event venues were considered in Metro Columbus, the convenience of the Franklin County Fairgrounds (in suburban Hilliard, off I-270) was the choice for home base.
Nearby the Fairgrounds buildings utilized;the Northwest Franklin County Historical Society’s park area, nearby railfan spots and close hotels helped with the decision.
The Northwest Franklin County Historical Society offers a small village recreation complete with a former railroad station, a recreated C&O caboose, and other interesting buildings. It sits near the Franklin County Fairgrounds and accessible during Ohio N-Scale Weekend.

The event, itself; is a cross spectrum of modelers from Ohio, the Midwest and beyond.
Don’t let it being only N-Scale deter you from coming., The modules built by the clubs attending are extremely detailed and fascinating.
Many of the clubs in the past have been Dayton N-Trak, Central Indiana N-Trak, Columbus (OH) Area N-Scalers, Burning River N-Society (Cleveland), Pittsburgh’s TRAIN-Trak, N-Trak Bloomington-Normal(IL), Cantington N-Trak (a Ohio Valley based group spanning from Canton all the way to Huntington, W.VA), and New Jersey Southern.
Folks have come as far as Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and many other places throughout the US to visit.
The down to earth vibe of the modelers bring a great feel of comradeship to modelers and attendees alike.
Ohio N-Scale Weekend will not only inspire current modelers, but families who loves trains.
On average, attendance has been between 300-500 attendees and guests total the past 9 years.
I encourage to visit the Ohio N-Scale Weekend. It should be a regular event for all who love the Iron Horse.
